President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed High Court Judges, Uz. Abdulla Didi and Uz. Abdul Ghanee Mohamed to the Supreme Court bench at a ceremony held at the President’s Office today. The 2 Justices took the oath of office before President Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Supreme Court Justice Honorable Abdullah Areef swore in the Justices. Both Abdulla Didi and Abdul Ghani Mohamed had served at the Superior Courts and High Court.
The Supreme Court of the Maldives comprises 5 Justices including the Chief Justice. They are Chief Justice Honorable Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi, Justice Honorable Abdulla Areef, Justice Honorable Adam Mohamed Abdulla, Justice Honorable Abdulla Didi, and Justice Honorable Abdul Ghani Mohamed.
