Abdul Ghanee Mohamed was born on 26 March 1968 in R. Alifushi. He pursued his higher education in law and Islamic jurisprudence, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Honours) in Law and Islamic Jurisprudence from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, in 2000. He further advanced his academic qualifications with a Master’s degree in Islamic Judicial Science and Shariah Policy from the Maldives Islamic University in 2022, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching from the same institution in 2024.
With extensive experience in the legal and judicial fields, Chief Justice Abdul Ghanee Mohamed has held several senior positions within the Maldivian judiciary. He served as a Civil Court Judge from 10 July 2000 to 14 March 2004, after which he was appointed as a Judge of the High Court of the Maldives, serving from 14 March 2004 to 21 September 2008. He subsequently served as the Chief Judge of the High Court from 21 September 2008 to 27 April 2011.
He has also previously served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the Maldives from 21 June 2018 to 04 December 2019, prior to his appointment as Chief Justice on 06 August 2025. In addition to his judicial roles, he has served as a Member of the Judicial Service Commission and as its President. He has also contributed to legal education as a Senior Lecturer at the Maldives Islamic University.

Chief Justice Abdul Ghanee Mohamed is fluent in Dhivehi, English, and Arabic.
ޢަބްދުލްޣަނީ މުޙައްމަދު އުފަންވެވަޑައިގެންނެވީ 26 މާރިޗު 1968 ގައި ރ. އަލިފުށްޓަށެވެ. އެ މަނިކުފާނު އެލްއެލްބީ (އޮނަރސް) ލޯ އެންޑް އިސްލާމިކް ޖުރިސްޕުރޫޑެންސްއިން ޑިގްރީ ޙާޞިލުކުރައްވާފައި ވަނީ 2000 ވަނަ އަހަރު މިސްރުގެ އަލްއަޒްހަރު ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އިންނެވެ. އަދި 2022 ވަނަ އަހަރު ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިސްލާމިކް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއިން މާސްޓަރ އޮފް އިސްލާމިކް ޖުޑީޝަލް ސައިންސް އެންޑް ޝަރިޢާ ޕޮލިސީ ޙާޞިލްކުރައްވާފައިވާއިރު، 2024 ވަނަ އަހަރު ހަމަ އެ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީން ކިޔަވައިދިނުމުގެ ދާއިރާއިން ޕޯސްޓް ގްރެޖުއޭޓް ޑިޕްލޮމާ އިން ޓީޗިންގވެސް ޙާޞިލްކުރައްވާފައިވެއެވެ.
ޢަބްދުލްޣަނީ މުޙައްމަދަކީ ޝަރުޢީ ދާއިރާއިން ތަފާތު ތަޖުރިބާ ހޯއްދަވައި، ގިނަ މަޤާމުތަކެއްވެސް ފުރުއްވާފައިވާ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ. އެގޮތުން އެމަނިކުފާނު 2000 ޖުލައި 10 ވަނަ ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން 2004 މާރިޗު 14 ވަނަ ދުވަހާ ހަމައަށް ސިވިލް ކޯޓުގެ ގާޟީއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރެއްވެވިއެވެ. 2004 މާރިޗު 14 ވަނަ ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން 2008 ސެޕްޓެމްބަރު 21 ވަނަ ދުވަހާ ހަމައަށް ހުންނެވީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ހައިކޯޓުގެ ފަނޑިޔާރެއް ގޮތުގައެވެ. 2008 ސެޕްޓެމްބަރު 21 އިން ފެށިގެން 2011 އޭޕްރިލް 28 ވަނަ ދުވަހާ ހަމައަށް އެކޯޓުގެ އިސްފަނޑިޔާރެއްގެ މަޤާމު އަދާކުރައްވާފައިވެއެވެ. އެމަނިކުފާނަކީ ކުރިންވެސް ސުޕްރީމްކޯޓުގެ ފަނޑިޔާރުގެ މަޤާމް ފުރުއްވާފައިވާ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ. އެއީ 2018 ޖޫން 21 އިން ފެށިގެން 2019 ޑިސެމްބަރު 04 ވަނަ ދުވަހާ ހަމައަށެވެ. އެމަނިކުފާނު ވަނީ ޖުޑީޝަލް ސަރވިސް ކޮމިޝަންގެ މެންބަރުކަމާއި އަދި އެ ކޮމިޝަނުގެ ރައީސްކަންވެސް ކުރައްވާފައެވެ. އަދި އެމަނިކުފާނުވަނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިސްލާމިކް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ ސީނިއަރ ލެކްޗަރއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައިވެސް މަސައްކަތް ކުރައްވާފައެވެ.
ޢަބްދުލްޣަނީ މުޙައްމަދަކީ ރާއްޖެއާ ރާއްޖެއިން ބޭރުގެ ތަމްރީނު ޕްރޮގްރާމްތަކާއި އަދި ސެމިނަރ ތަކުގައި ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެން ގިނަގުނަ ތަޖުރިބާތަކެއް ހޯއްދަވާފައިވާ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ. 2007 ވަނަ އަހަރު ސިންގަޕޫރުގައި އޮތް "ރީޖަނަލް ޖުޑީޝަލް ސިމްޕޯސިއަމް"، އަދި ހަމަ އެ އަހަރު ކުވައިތުގައި އޮތް "ޖުޑީޝަލް ސިސްޓަމް އެންޑް ކޮންފްލިކްޓް އޮފް ކުވެއިތު ލޯ" ޕްރޮގްރާމްގައި ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެންނެވިއެވެ. 2010 ވަނަ އަހަރުގެ އޮކްޓޯބަރު މަހު 04 ކުން 06 އަކަށް ސިންގަޕޫރުގައި އޮތް "އޭޝިއަން-ޕެސިފިކް ކޯޓު ކޮންފަރެންސް" ގައި ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެން އަދި އެ އަހަރުގެ ނޮވެމްބަރު މަހު އިންޑިއާގެ ދިއްލީގައި އޮތް ލޯއޭޝިއާ ކޮންފަރެންސްގައިވެސް ބައިވެރިވެޑައިގެންނެވިއެވެ. ފޮރެންސިކް ސައިންސް އަދި މެޑިކަލް ނެގްލިޖަންސްއާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން އިންޑިއާގެ ގޯއާގައި އޮތް 02 ކޮންފަރެންސްއެއްގައިވެސް އެމަނިކުފާނުވަނީ ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގެންފައެވެ. އަދި މީގެ އިތުރުން އެކިއެކި ފޯރަމްތަކުގައި ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެން ޝަރުއީ ދާއިރާއިން ގިނަގުނަ ޚިދުމަތްތަކެއް ކުރައްވާފައިވެއެވެ. މިގޮތުން 2011 މާރިޗު 13 އިން 15 އަށް ސްރީލަންކާގެ ކޮލޮމްބޯގައި ކުރިއަށް ދިޔަ "ކޮމޮންވެލްތް ސެކްރެޓޭރިއަޓް ސައުތު އޭޝިއަން ޖަޖަސް ރީޖަނަލް ފޯރަމް އޮން އިކޮނޮމިކް އެންޑް ފައިނޭންޝަލް ކްރައިމް" ފޯރަމް ފާހަގަކޮށްލެވެއެވެ. 2019 ވަނަ އަހަރު އިނގިރޭސިވިލާތުގެ ލަންޑަންގައި އޮތް "ޖަސްޓިސް، ފެއަރނެސް އެންޑް ދަ ރޫލް އޮފް ލޯ: ބެޓަރ ލީގަލް ސިސްޓަމްސް، ބެޓަރ ލީގަލް ގަވަރނަންސް" ވޯކްޝޮޕް ގައި ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެން އިތުރު ތަޖުރިބާ ހޯއްދަވާފައިވޭ ވެސްމެއެވެ. އަދި އެމަނިކުފާނު ވަނީ 2011 ވަނަ އަހަރު ރާއްޖޭގައި ބޭއްވުނު ފިކުރީ މުދަލުގެ ހައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރި ކުރުމާއި ބެހޭ ވޯކްޝޮޕްވެސް ފުރިހަމަ ކުރައްވާފައެވެ.
އުއްތަމަ ފަނޑިޔާރު ޢަބްދުލްޢަނީ މުހައްމަދަކީ ފަރިތަކަމާއެކު ދިވެހިބަހުންބާއި އިނގިރޭސިބަހުންނާ ޢަރަބިބަހުންވެސް މުޢާމަލާތް ކުރައްވާ ޢިލްމީ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ.
