Honorable Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad was born in Malé, Republic of Maldives. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours), under the University of London External program at the Royal Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and read for her Master of Laws at the University of Western, in Perth, Australia.

Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad was appointed to the Supreme Court on 04th September 2019. While she was in private practice as Associate Partner at Nasheed & Co Law Practice prior to her appointment at the Supreme Court, since 1997, she has filled a number of positions, including, the position of Judge at the Civil Court; varied executive and legal positions at the Ministry of Justice and Juvenile Court; and project positions at the Ministry of Gender. Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad has also worked extensively with civil society organizations on a number of issues, primarily with a focus on human rights and good governance.

Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad had also served as a member of the Judicial Service Commission of Maldives (2019 – 2024), a member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Maldives National University (2021-2024) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Judicial Academy of Maldives (2021-2024).

Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad was elected as a member of the first Executive Committee of the Bar Council of Maldives in 2019, from which she resigned upon appointment to the Supreme Court. In addition, she has served the United Nations Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture (SPT), as its Vice Chairperson for Jurisprudence and SPT Rapporteur, from 2011 to 2018. Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad was re-elected to the SPT and served as Vice Chairperson for National Preventive Mechanisms from 2021-2024. She was recently elected in as SPT Vice Chairperson and Rapporteur in 2025, for a period of 2 years.

ފަނޑިޔާރު ޢާއިޝާ ޝުޖޫން މުޙައްމަދު އުފަންވެ ވަޑައިގެންނެވީ، ކ. މާލެ އަށެވެ. އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ސްރީލަންކާގެ ކޮލޮމްބޯގައި ހުންނަ ރޯޔަލް އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓްގައި، ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އޮފް ލަންޑަންގެ އެކްސްޓަރނަލް ޕްރޮގްރާމްގެ ދަށުން ޤާނޫނީ ދާއިރާއިން ބެޗްލަރ އޮފް ލޯސް (އޮނަރސް) ފުރިހަމަ ކުރައްވައި، އޮސްޓްރޭލިއާގެ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އޮފް ވެސްޓަރން އޮސްޓްރޭލިޔާއިން މާސްޓަރ އޮފް ލޯސް ޙާޞިލްކުރައްވާފައެވެ.

ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓުގެ ފަނޑިޔާރު ކަމަށް ފަނޑިޔާރު ޢާއިޝާ ޝުޖޫން މުޙައްމަދު އައްޔަން ކުރައްވާފައިވަނީ 2019 ވަނަ އަހަރުގެ ސެޕްޓެންބަރު މަހުގެ 04 ވަނަ ދުވަހު އެވެ. ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓަށް އައްޔަން ކުރެއްވުމުގެ ކުރިން އެކަމަނާ ހުންނެވީ ނަޝީދު އެންޑް ކޯ ލޯ ޕްރެކްޓިސްގެ އެސޯސިއޭޓް ޕާޓްނަރުގެ ގޮތުގައެވެ. އަދި 1997 ވަނަ އަހަރުން ފެށިގެން އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ސިވިލް ކޯޓުގެ ފަނޑިޔާރުކަމުގެ މަޤާމާއި މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ޖަސްޓިސް އާއި ޖުވެނައިލް ކޯޓުގެ އެގްޒެކެޓިވް އަދި ލީގަލް މަޤާމުތަކުގެ އިތުރުން، ޖެންޑަރ މިނިސްޓްރީގެ ޕްރޮޖެކްޓް މަޤާމުތައް ފުރުއްވާފައެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން، ފަނޑިޔާރު ޢާއިޝާ ޝުޖޫން މުޙައްމަދަކީ ފުޅާ ދާއިރާއެއްގައި މަދަނީ ޖަމިއްޔާތަކާ އެކު، ހިއުމަން ރައިޓްސް އަދި ގުޑް ގަވަރނަންސް ފަދަ ދާއިރާތަކަށް ވަކި ޚާއްޞަކަމެއް ދެއްވައިގެން މަސައްކަތް ކުރައްވާފައިވާ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ.

2019 އިން 2024 އަށް، އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ޖުޑީޝަލް ސަރވިސް ކޮމިޝަންގެ މެމްބަރުކަމުގެ އިތުރުން ފެކަލްޓީ އޮފް ޝަރިޢާ އެންޑް ލޯގެ އެޑްވައިޒަރީ ބޯޑުގެ މެމްބަރުކަމާއި، ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޤައުމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ އެޑްވައިޒަރީ ބޯޑުގެ މެމްބަރުކަމާއި އަދި ޖުޑީޝަލް އެކަޑަމީގެ އެޑްވައިޒަރީ ބޯޑުގެ މެމްބަރުކަންވެސް ފުރުއްވާފައެވެ. ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓުގެ ފަނޑިޔާރުކަމަށް އައްޔަން ކުރެއްވުމާ ހަމައަށް އެކަމަނާވަނީ ބާ ކައުންސިލް އޮފް މޯލްޑިވްސްގެ ފުރަތަމަ އެގްޒެކެޓިވް ކޮމިޓީގެ މެންބަރުކަންވެސް ފުރުއްވާފައެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ޔުނައިޓެޑް ނޭޝަންސް ސަބްކޮމިޓީ އޮން ދަ ޕްރިވެންޝަން އޮފް ޓޯޗާ (އެސްޕީޓީ) ގެ ވައިސް ޗެއާޕާސަން ފޯ ޖުރިސްޕްރުޑެންސް އަދި އެސްޕީޓީ ރެޕަޓުއާގެ މަޤާމު 2011 އިން 2018 އަށް ފުރުއްވާފައެވެ. އެސްޕީޓީއަށް އަލުން އިންތިޚާބު ވެވަޑައިގެން،2021 ވަނަ އަހަރުން ފެށިގެން 2024 ވަނަ އަހަރުގެ ނިޔަލަށް އެކަމަނާވަނީ ނޭޝަނަލް ޕްރިވެންޓިވް މެކޭނިޒަމްގެ ވައިސް ޗެއަރ ޕަރސަން ކުރައްވާފައެވެ. މިހާރުވެސް، 2025 ވަނަ އަހަރުން ފެށިގެން 02 އަހަރުދުވަހުގެ މުއްދަތަށް އެކަމަނާ ގެންދަވަނީ އެސްޕީޓީގެ ވައިސް ޗެއާޕާސަން އަދި ރެޕަޓުއާގެ މަޤާމު ފުރުއްވަމުންނެވެ.
