Secretary General Appointed to the Supreme Court of the Maldivesދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓުގެ ސެކްރެޓަރީ ޖެނެރަލްގެ މަޤާމަށް ބޭފުޅަކު ހަމަޖައްސަވައިފި

Dr. Hussain Faiz has been appointed as the Secretary General of the Supreme Court of the Maldives. The Secretary General is the highest-ranking administrative officer of the Supreme Court and is appointed by the Judicial Council of the Supreme Court of the Maldives.

The Judicial Council resolved to appoint Dr. Hussain Faiz to the position with effect from 7 January 2019.

The Secretary General is responsible for the overall administration and management of the Supreme Court, ensuring that its affairs are conducted in accordance with the policies and directives established by the Judicial Council. The Secretary General also provides the Judicial Council with the information and recommendations required for policy development and institutional planning within areas under his purview.

In addition, the Secretary General oversees the implementation and management of projects and programmes under the guidance of the Chief Justice and the Judicial Council. The position carries responsibility for formulating, executing, monitoring, and evaluating strategic initiatives aimed at the continued development and advancement of the Supreme Court.

These responsibilities include the preparation and implementation of short-term, medium-term, and long-term development plans, the formulation of strategic plans, and the coordination and supervision of institutional activities to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the Court.
