This case was submitted to the Supreme Court of the Maldives by Ali Shah stating that Article 12, 13 and 14 of the Act No. 11/2019 (Judicial Service Commission Act) is in contrary to Article 7 and 14 of the Constitution of the Maldives, thus rendering unconstitutional and void from the start."މި މައްސަލައަކީ ޖުޑީޝަލް ސަރވިސް ކޮމިޝަނުގެ ޤާނޫނު (ޤާނޫނު ނަންބަރު 11/2019) ގެ 12 ވަނަ މާއްދާ އާއި، 13 ވަނަ މާއްދާ އަދި 14 ވަނަ މާއްދާ އެއީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 7 ވަނަ މާއްދާ އާއި 14 ވަނަ މާއްދާއާ ޚިލާފު މާއްދާތަކެއް ކަމަށް ބުނެ، އެ މާއްދާތަކަކީ ބާޠިލު އަދި ފެށުނީއްސުރެ ވުޖޫދުގައި ނެތް މާއްދާތަކެއް ކަމަށް ކަނޑައަޅައިދިނުމަށް އެދި ޢަލީ ޝާހުގެ ފަރާތުން ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓަށް ހުށަހެޅި މައްސަލައެކެވެ
