This case was submitted to the Supreme Court of the Maldives by Ali Hussain, alleging that the amendment brought to the Article 73 of the Constitution is in violation of both the Constitution of the Maldives and the Basic Structure Doctrine and hence the amendment shall not apply retrospectively.މި މައްސަލައަކީ، ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 73 ވަނަ މާއްދާއަށް ގެނެވުނު އިޞްލާޙަކީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީއާއި އަސާސީ އޮނިގަނޑުގެ މަބްދައުއާ ޚިލާފަށް ގެނެސްފައިވާ އިޞްލާޙެއް ކަމަށާއި، އަދި އެ އިޞްލާޙު ރަޖުޢީކޮށް ތަތުބީޤު ނުކުރެވޭނެކަމަށް ބުނެ، ޢަލީ ޙުސައިންގެ ފަރާތުން ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓަށް ހުށަހެޅި މައްސަލައެކެވެ.
